At least thee years in the works, a north-side hotel is scheduled for completion this summer.
Through EAS Investment Enterprises Inc., hotelier Earl Steinert has a rough timeline in place to open a Home2 Suites by Hilton at 2756 N. Glenstone Ave., according to information provided by Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. for Springfield Business Journal’s upcoming Architects & Engineers Project Report. The hotel site is nearby the north-side Lamplighter Inn & Suites and behind a Hampton Inn he also owns.
Steinert, who could not be reached for comment by deadline, in June 2014 told SBJ he was considering the development of a Home2 Suites by Hilton near the North Glenstone Avenue and Interstate 44 intersection.
Information submitted by project architect Butler, Rosenbury & Partners indicates the hotel would have 99 suites on four floors, as well as a business center, community space and pool. Hilton.com describes the Home2 Suites brand as pet-friendly hotels with such sustainable elements as ecofriendly construction materials and recycling options.
Branson-based Cornerstone Building Services LLC is serving as general contractor for the estimated $4 million project, according to the building permit on file with the city.
