New minor league baseball stadium, team coming to Chicago area

A new baseball stadium and team is coming to Rosemont, an Illinois village immediately northwest of Chicago.

Rosemont Entertainment Group, a venture formed by two former NBA, NHL and Major League Soccer team executives, is developing the $55 million, 6,300-seat minor league ballpark near Chicago O'Hare International Airport.

In 2018, they plan to start a new franchise in the 12-team American Association of Independent Professional Baseball.
