New McDonald's HQ could top 600K square feet

The future Chicago headquarters of McDonald's could top 600,000 square feet in size, according to an ordinance introduced by city council members.

The ordinance calls on a zoning change paving the way for a nine-story building at the former site of Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Studios.

McDonald's plans to move to Chicago by 2018 from suburban Oak Brook, Ill.
