New home sales hit six-year high in May

In another indication the U.S. housing market might finally be recovering, sales of new homes hit a six-year high in May.
 
The Commerce Department released sales figures on Tuesday that show an 18.6 percent increase, or 504,000 units sold, according to Reuters.
 
Sales of previously owned homes, the largest segment of the market, showed the largest increase in more than three years, according to the report.
