Construction of a full-service Great Southern Bank branch at 2449 S. Campbell Ave. is scheduled for completion by early fall.
The bank will replace Great Southern's location adjacent to Bass Pro Shops, said Kelly Polonus, Great Southern spokeswoman.
"We have outgrown the building there on the Bass Pro lot," she said of the 1955 S. Campbell bank. "That is one of our busier locations, so we're really excited to provide this facility that would double the space and provide our customers more convenience."
The seven employees at the Bass Pro lot location would be moved to the new location come fall, Polonus said, adding it's too early to tell if more employees will be hired.
The lot at 2449 S. Campbell, next to Jade East Restaurant, was purchased from the Merriman Bernell Family Trust for an undisclosed amount.
Morelock-Ross Builders is the general contractor for the 3,500-square-foot project, which also would add an additional drive-through lane. Marshall Waters Woody Associates is the architecture firm for the project, Polonus said.
According to a building permit on file with the city, the estimated value of the project is $450,000.[[In-content Ad]]
