Dallas-based Nexstar Broadcasting Group Inc. last week selected a media industry veteran as general manager for KOZL-TV and its associated website, OzarksFirst.com.
Nexstar chose Leo Henning as KOZL's vice president and general manager. Henning also will manage Nexstar's joint operating agreement with Mission Broadcasting's CBS affiliate KOLR 10. Nexstar owns KOZL-TV, and through the agreement, manages KOLR-10, which is licensed to Mission Broadcasting, according to a news release.
Henning succeeds Mark Gordon, who
resigned unexpectedly in late May.
Henning, who most recently served as president and CEO of Saukview Media LLC, worked 2006-11 as senior vice president of Schaumburg, Ill.-based Barrington Broadcasting Group, where he managed CBS, ABC and FOX affiliates. Prior to joining Barrington, Henning spent 33 years at Quincy, Ill.-based Quincy Newspapers Inc., where he worked for the company's broadcasting group, eventually working as general manager, the release said.
“(Henning) has a proven long-term record of achieving outstanding operating and financial results by implementing innovative programming strategies and leading teams that delivered compelling and effective marketing solutions for local and national advertisers," said Nexstar co-Chief Operating Officer Brian Jones, in the release.
Shares of publicly traded Nexstar (Nasdaq: NXST) were trading at $8.68 as of 10:12 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $5.53 to $9.60.[[In-content Ad]]
