Irving, Texas-based Nexstar Media Group Inc. (Nasdaq: NXST) has named a new general manager to oversee its Ozarks First operation in Springfield.
Taylor Becker, who has more than 12 years of experience with Nexstar, is the new vice president and GM for Ozarks First, the umbrella for KOLR10, FOX49, KOZL and OzarksFirst.com, according to a news release. Becker most recently served for over two years as Nexstar's local director of sales.
In her new role, Becker is Ozarks First's top-ranking local leader, said Julie Eaton, director of marketing for Ozarks First.
“Taylor is a proven leader who understands the unique needs of our viewers, clients and team members,” said Mike Vaughn, regional vice president for Nexstar, in the release. "Her deep local insight and commitment to community-focused broadcasting make her the ideal person to lead Ozarks First into the future. I look forward to the continued growth and success of the station under her leadership."
Becker succeeds Chris Pruitt, who retired in July, Eaton said. Pruitt became GM in early 2024, according to past reporting.
Eaton said Becker leads roughly 100 employees at Ozarks First.
"It’s an honor to step into this new role and continue serving the Ozarks community alongside such a passionate and talented team,” Becker said in the release. "Our stations play a vital role in delivering trusted news, meaningful storytelling and innovative local partnerships. I’m excited to carry our mission forward and build on the strong foundation we've created."
