New drug approvals hit 21-year high in 2017

U.S. drug approvals hit a 21-year high in 2017, according to a Reuters report.

During the year, 46 novel medicines got the green light. That's more than double the amount from 2016.

In the European Union, 92 new drugs, including generics, were recommended. That's up from 81 in 2016.
