The 85,000-square-foot theater was re-dedicated as Dick Clark American Bandstand Theater in a June 2 ceremony at the California Grill, which is adjacent to the theater property. The ceremony featured a mayoral address, ribbon cutting ceremony, site tour, musical performances and catering in keeping with the event’s theme, “Rock. Ride. Remember.”
The complex will house the 12,000-square-foot Dick Clark American Bandstand Grill when it opens in spring 2006, as well as the Patch Collection, an exhibition of restored 1957 automobiles and memorabilia, and a 900-seat theater.
The complex, located directly across the street from Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, is a project of Belair Holdings LLC and Dick Clark Productions. It’s part of a building boom in Branson that has seen an estimated $125 million in construction projects this year.
The theater is scheduled to hold its grand opening concert event March 17, 2006.
