A Greenfield businesswoman has been named as the new agent for the Greenfield motor vehicle and license office, the state Department of Revenue announced Friday.
Patti Hayes, owner and operator of the H&R Block tax service office in Greenfield since 2005, will be the new Greenfield license agent. Her bid was selected from the four submitted. The office will also move to 311 W. Water St., next to Hayes' H&R Block office, according to a DOR news release.
Hayes' winning proposal included a 1 percent return to the state. Fiscal 2009 figures indicated about 12,600 transactions took place at the Greenfield office, generating $42,450 in processing fees, so Hayes' contract would return $424 to the state.
All 183 license offices have now been awarded using the new bidding system, and DOR estimates more than $1 million will be returned to the state during the first contract year from the 183 license offices awarded under the reformed bidding process, according to the release.
Of those 183, 101 offices have gone to incumbents or interim agents, with 82 going to new agents. Ten offices, originally awarded to Alternative Opportunities Inc.,
are being rebid due to inadequate information at the request of DOR, and six of those are pending.[[In-content Ad]]
