Netflix to pay Comcast for higher speeds

After a U.S. Court of Appeals ruling last month in Washington, D.C., struck down the Federal Communications Commission’s directives on net neutrality, Netflix has agreed to pay Comcast for faster speeds.

Comcast and Netflix made the joint announcement on Sunday, marking the first time that Netflix is paying for faster speeds in the U.S. after customers complained about slow service. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to Fox News.

The FCC said last week it plans to rewrite the rules after the blow to net neutrality in January.
