Netflix stock drops on subscriber miss

Netflix's stock was down by more than 5% in after-hour trading yesterday after the company reported worse-than-expected quarterly global subscriber additions.

The company recorded 2.2 million global paid net subscriber additions. Analysts expected nearly 3.6 million.

The company's quarterly earnings per share were $1.74, compared with $2.14 per share expected by analysts. Revenue of $6.4 billion beat the $6.38 billion projection from analysts.
