Netflix slashed prices in India to better compete with rivals such as Amazon and Disney.
The streaming company cut the price for its basic plan to $2.62 per month in India.
Research from Media Partners Asia show 46 million people in India subscribe to the Disney Hotstar platform, with 19 million subscribed to Amazon Prime Video. Netflix has around 5 million customers in the country.
