Netflix shares soar on new member surge

Netflix Inc. yesterday reported a larger-than-expected increase in new additions.

Yesterday's announcement that the company added 3.57 million subscribers came after its weakest subscriber expansion in two years in the most recent quarter.

Shares surged 19 percent to $199 in after-hours trading. Prior to that, the stock had fallen 13 percent this year.
