Netflix Inc. added more subscribers than expected in the third quarter, helped by shows such as the latest season of "Narcos."
The company added 4.45 million subscribers in its international markets, ahead of the 3.69 million analysts expected. In the United States, Netflix brought on 850,000 new subscribers, above estimates of 810,000.
On a revenue increase of 30 percent to $3 billion, the company's net income rose to $130 million from $52 million a year earlier.
