While Netflix added 8.8 million subscribers in the fourth quarter - more than expected - its shares declined after the release of its quarterly earnings report yesterday.
Netflix shares were down about 3 percent in after-hours trading yesterday and pre-market trading this morning.
Analysts had expected 7.5 million new paid subscribers during the quarter.
Only revenue came up short of expectations. Analysts were looking for $4.21 billion, and the company posted sales of $4.19 billion.
