W. Patrick McGinnis is stepping down as CEO of St. Louis-based Nestle Purina, effective Jan. 1.
McGinnis worked his way to the top after starting in the company's corporate management training program 42 years ago.
The St. Louis Business Journal reports McGinnis, 66, will be appointed nonexecutive chairman. Jospeph Sivewright, the current president of Nestle Purina PetCare North America, will take over as CEO.
Nestle Purina generated approximately $8.2 billion in revenue in 2013.
