Nearly half of Americans think the recession is not over

If the U.S. economy has nearly recovered from the Great Recession, why are so many of us dubious that anything has actually improved?
 
According to reporting by Bloomberg Businessweek, nearly half of Americans consider the country to still be in a recession, and a whopping 76 percent believe successive generations will have an even worse go of it.
 
The report cites insecurity over future earnings as causing most of the stress Americans feel. Real median income hasn't increased in more than 20 years, making personal finances less secure.
