Nearly 90 percent of Americans have health coverage

Before the Affordable Care Act went into effect two years ago, nearly 20 percent of Americans didn't have health insurance. Now, nearly nine in 10 do, reports CNNMoney.
 
A poll by Gallup found only 11.9 percent of Americans are not insured, the lowest percentage since Gallup began recording information on health-care coverage in 2008, the report states.
 
Coverage rates across all demographics have improved, according to the report, with the greatest improvements for people making less than $36,000 per year and those ages 26 to 34. An improving economy and falling unemployment rate also are attributed for the rise in health insurance coverage.
