Nearly 13,000 children were removed from Missouri's Medicaid program in August.
More than three-quarters of the children removed were terminated over paperwork issues rather than being determined ineligible, the Missouri Independent reports.
From June through August, nearly half of terminations from the state's Medicaid program were children, according to Department of Social Services data.
