NBC to keep Brian Williams, but not as 'Nightly News' anchor

Posted online
Media outlets reported Wednesday evening TV news anchor Brian Williams will be making a return to NBC News, but it won’t be to his old spot on ‘Nightly News’.

Williams was suspended without pay in February from the network’s signature news show for six months after telling fabricated stories that a helicopter he was riding in during coverage of the Iraq War in 2003 received enemy fire.

NBC has not announced when Williams will rejoin the network, or the position he will be taking when he returns.

Lester Holt, who has anchored the program since Williams’ suspension, will continue to host ‘Nightly News’, according to the Washington Post.
