NBA signs 9-year TV deal

The National Basketball Association has re-upped with ESPN and TNT on a new nine-year television contract, two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed to USA Today.

The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because the terms of the deal had not been announced. The deal is reportedly expected to begin in the 2016-17 season and would be worth $24 billion, nearly three times the league's current contract.

Fox Sports One is said to have been a contender for NBA games.
