NATO allies agree to grow defense spending

NATO allies have agreed to more than double their defense spending target.

The Western military bloc now has a defense spending target of 5% of gross domestic product by 2035, up from 2% previously.

NATO allies said in a joint statement that they are "united in the face of profound security threats and challenges."
