National morning show airs from Springfield

Posted online
“The Early Show,” produced by CBS, is traveling across the country as part of its Great American Vacation series.

And Springfield is the first stop on the tour.

The national morning show, watched by more than 15 million people daily, will be giving national weather forecasts from Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World during tomorrow’s 7 a.m. show. The Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau is encouraging area residents to attend the live broadcast and show their support for the city.

People interested in attending the event should be at the main entrance of Bass Pro no later than 6 a.m. tomorrow.

“Millions of people watch the show, and we want to make an impression from Springfield,” said Susan Wade, CVB public relations manager. “We want people to say, ‘What is this Springfield?’ and look us up and find out.”

CBS will present a free vacation to one local family at each stop on the tour. The identity of the Springfield winners will be announced during tomorrow’s broadcast.

Springfield is the first of 16 stops on the tour; Cape Girardeau and Little Rock, Ark., are also on the show’s itinerary.

More information on the event is available at www.cbsnews.com/earlyshow.[[In-content Ad]]
