Posted online
The national foreclosure count declined 15.5 percent in March compared to the same time last year, according to the latest data from real estate market tracker CoreLogic.

During the month, there were 41,000 completed foreclosures, a drop from 48,000 in the same month of 2014, according to a news release.

CoreLogic reports the number of serious delinquencies also dropped in March, to 1.5 million mortgages, or 3.9 percent of total, the lowest rate since May 2008.

"Foreclosures and serious delinquency rates continue to drop as the home purchase market begins to emerge from its eight-year slump," said Anand Nallathambi, president and CEO of CoreLogic, in the release.

In Missouri, 0.6 percent of homes with a mortgage were in foreclosure in March. For the 12-month period ended March 31, completed foreclosures totaled 12,291 fore the state.
