Real estate market tracker CoreLogic (NYSE: CLGX) reports 43,000 completed foreclosures nationwide in February, a 15 percent decrease compared to 51,000 recorded in the same month of 2013.

As of Feb. 28, there were some 752,000 U.S. homes in some stage of the foreclosure process, down from 1.2 million in February 2013. Since the recession began, roughly 4.9 million homes have been lost to foreclosure across the country. By the end of February, the number of delinquent mortgages - defined as 90 or more days past due -  totaled 1.9 million, according to a news release.

"The stock of seriously delinquent homes and the foreclosure rate are back to levels last seen in the final quarter of 2008," CoreLogic President and CEO Anand Nallathambi said in the release.

For the 12 months ended Feb. 28, there were 14,121 completed foreclosures in Missouri, according to CoreLogic. The state with the highest number of foreclosures for those 12 months was Florida, at 118,000, while the District of Columbia had the lowest number, at 60, followed by North Dakota, at 421.
