National Enzyme Co. held a ribbon-cutting this week for a building that replaces an office facility lost to a fire earlier this year.
The 3,200-square-foot expansion adds on to an existing building that held information and technology offices. With the addition, the company’s quality care employees join the facility, said spokeswoman Jennifer Brown.
“The building is a large expansion, and it’s something for future growth, as well,” she said, declining to disclose expansion costs.
After the February fire, at least six quality care employees were relocated. However, the early-morning accident caused no injuries since no one was on-site at the time.
The addition is Phase I of planned expansions for NEC. The company also is planning a 30,000-square-foot expansion of its production facility, though the timeline hasn’t been set, Brown said.
Forsyth-based NEC employs over 100 and produces custom enzyme formulas including dietary supplements for humans and animals.
