The American Chamber of Commerce Executives next month will give former Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jim Anderson its highest individual honor.
During the ACCE's national convention scheduled Aug. 12-15 in Cincinnati, Anderson will receive the Life Member Award, given to recognize those who have retired with a lifetime of business community leadership and work with the 7,000-member ACCE, according to a news release.
“It is especially poignant to be honoring Jim's work and his enduring influence across the nation during this, our centennial year, considering how instrumental he was in the success of ACCE for much of its history,” ACCE President Mick Fleming said in the release. “Jim's guidance, experience and dedication to progress deserve our most sincere thanks and highest recognition.”
Anderson
started last week as vice president of marketing and public affairs at CoxHealth after serving some 26 years leading the local chamber.
One of three to be given the Life Member Award this year, Anderson is among less than 50 to receive it in the organization's history.
Anderson served as ACCE chairman 1994-95, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
