NASCAR moved to ban all Confederate flags at all of its events and properties.
"The presence of the Confederate flag at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry," officials said in a statement.
The decision came two days after Bubba Wallace, the lone black driver in NASCAR's three national series, called for the organization to ban the flags. It also comes amid social unrest in the wake of George Floyd's death.
