Nabisco redesigned its animal cracker boxes after a request from animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
Gone are the boxes showing circus animals in boxcars with bars on them. The packaging now shows animals roaming free in what appears to be an African savanna.
“The new box for Barnum’s Animals crackers perfectly reflects that our society no longer tolerates the caging and chaining of wild animals for circus shows,” PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said.
