The outgoing superintendent of Branson Public Schools has been hired for a role by Nabholz Construction Corp.
Brandon Wall, executive vice president of operations for Nabholz, said Brad Swofford would start in July in the newly created business development officer role. Swofford would be based in Nabholz's Springfield office, Wall said.
Wall said that in the role, Swofford would work to identify project opportunities, build relationships with clients and support strategic growth in the region.
"The role was newly created to support our continued expansion in southwest Missouri, and Brad’s deep local knowledge and longstanding community relationships make him a great fit," Wall said via email. "He brings a wealth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to serving the people and communities of Missouri. We’re looking forward to the positive impact he’ll make as we grow our team, serve our clients and continue building strong relationships throughout our communities."
At Branson Public Schools, Swofford is set to retire as superintendent on June 30 after nine years in the role, according to past reporting. Nate Moore, currently the district's assistant superintendent and chief financial officer, has been tapped as his successor.
Swofford has been a Branson district employee for his entire education career since 1995.
Nabholz's website lists offices in seven states, and it has both a main office and industrial services location in Springfield.
Nabholz ranked No. 1 on Springfield Business Journal's recently published list of the area's largest commercial general contractors. The company reported $139.3 million in local billings during 2024, an $85 million current backlog and 68 local employees. Its specialties include educational, hospitality and health care projects.
