Myanmar military government blocks Facebook

Myanmar’s new military government ordered local telecom firms to temporarily block Facebook.

The block, which is scheduled to last through Feb. 7, comes after the military seized power through a coup.

“We urge authorities to restore connectivity so that people in Myanmar can communicate with their families and friends and access important information," a Facebook spokesperson said.
