Springfield musician and producer Lou Whitney died Tuesday in his home after a battle with cancer. He was 71.
Owner of The Studio in downtown Springfield, 328 South Ave., Whitney, 71, helped record over 1,000 different bands, according to the Springfield News-Leader.
He also was known for bands The Skeletons and The Morells, which published "Shake and Push" in 1982.
Springfield event venue Belamour LLC gained new ownership; The Wok on West Bypass opened; and Hawk Barber & Shop closed on a business purchase that expanded its footprint to Ozark.
