The listing, released by RISMedia on April 29, is based on the number of transactions. Murney reported 5,511 transactions in 2007, according to the report.
Murney also landed high on the report’s listing of top-performing firms based on sales at No. 133, with a sales volume of $897.5 million last year.
Murney ranked No. 1 on both the Area’s Largest Residential Real Estate Firms list and Area’s Largest Commercial Real Estate Firms list, researched by Springfield Business Journal in 2007. The lists are available for download here.
The Power Broker Report calculates that the total number of transactions, as reported by the survey’s 887 respondents, was 2.3 million in 2007, down from 2.75 million in 2006. Firms on average did 1,100 fewer transactions than in 2006. Total sales volume across the board was down by more than $100 billion to $749.2 billion, compared to $855.76 billion in 2006.
The real estate outlook for 2008 remains mixed across the country, according to the report.
