Springfield-based Paul Mueller Co. (OTC: MUEL) yesterday underwent a board shakeup after its chairman announced his retirement.
Board Chairman Donald Golik, who had been a board member since 1982, retired from the board yesterday, according to a news release. He also had served as chief financial officer for more than 31 years until his retirement from that position in
mid-2011. Upon announcing his retirement from the company in late 2010, Golik stepped down from his first term as chairman of the board, but stayed on as a member. He again was elected chairman in
November 2011 after the retirement of William Patterson.
"It has been our pleasure to work alongside Don during his years of service with our organization. We want to extend our sincere appreciation for his contributions, as well as congratulate him on his retirement," Mueller Co. President and CEO David Moore said in the release.
John Ghirardelli, chairman of the board's nominating and compensation committee and president of Killian Construction Co., yesterday was elected chairman of the Mueller Co. Board of Directors in Golik's stead, the release said.
During the board meeting, SRC Holdings Corp. CEO Jack Stack was appointed as a member of the Mueller Co. Board of Directors.
"I am pleased to see the company gain a director with Jack's capabilities, and I am sure that our employees will welcome his influence in the company," Moore said in the release.
Stainless steel manufacturer Mueller Co.'s pink sheet stock was trading this morning at a 52-week high of $23, compared to a low of $16.52.
