In the fall semester, Missouri State University's College of Business Administration will begin offering a two-year general business program designed for Ozarks Technical Community College transfer students.
The program would allow OTC associate degree students, who have taken business coursework, to receive a bachelor's degree in general business from COBA within two years, according to a news release.
The MSU businesses courses, which will be held two nights per weeks each semester, will be reserved for transferring OTC students until a month prior to the start of the semester.
The program adds another layer to an inner-school
partnership already in place, allowing OTC students a variety of options when transferring to MSU.
“Ultimately, and most importantly, this relationship benefits students," MSU Interim President Clif Smart said in the release. "The business completion program is yet another example of both institutions’ commitment to better serving students.”
OTC Chancellor Hal Higdon predicts the program would be a deciding factor for OTC students thinking about transferring to MSU to receive their bachelor's degrees.
"This program is designed to make the transition from OTC to MSU smooth, not only in terms of credit transfer and degree planning, but also in that it allows students to continue scheduling their classes around their lives and their jobs," Higdon said in the release.
