Volunteers leave Saturday by bus and will spend the following week cleaning up debris left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
The trip is funded partly by $10,700 from the MSU Student Organization Funding Allocation Council. A handful of other MSU student organizations, along with Habitat for Humanity – New Orleans Area, are sponsoring the trip.
MSU’s Plaster Student Union donated water bottles, and the university’s Taylor Health and Wellness gave volunteers free tetanus shots.
