MSU signs first international dual-credit agreement

Posted online
Missouri State University has developed a partnership with a Vietnamese high school, forming the Springfield-based college's first international dual-credit agreement.

The agreement allows eight high schools students from The American School of Vietnam to take dual-credit courses from MSU. Prior to the partnership, dual-credit classes were available only to students attending U.S. high schools, according to a news release.

The partnership was crafted by Steve Robinette, associate vice president of international programs at MSU, and Lee Yoder, head of school at The American School of Vietnam,  a private college preparatory school in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to TheAmericanSchool.edu.vn, the agreement allows the Vietnamese school's students to earn credit hours toward a degree at MSU at half the cost of regular course fees charged by the university.

MSU plans to extend its dual-credit program to other international institutions with similar missions, but a timeline was not laid out in the release.[[In-content Ad]]
