MSU SIFE wins regional championship

Posted online
Missouri State University’s Students in Free Enterprise team took home a regional championship title March 20 in Atlanta.

The competition was one of 16 SIFE USA regional championships this spring. MSU’s team competed against teams from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

So far this school year, MSU’s team has organized 19 local projects, including SIFE City: A Success Skills program, which taught Willard Intermediate School students how to apply for jobs, balance a checkbook, deposit paychecks, and campaign and vote for elected officials.

The team will go on to compete in the SIFE national competition May 13–15 in Chicago.

Evangel University’s SIFE team, meanwhile, is traveling to Rogers, Ark., today for a regional competition. The team will present its projects from this school year such as Ethics Unjeopardized, BizKids and South Africa Water Purification.
