MSU selects new board officers

The Missouri State University Board of Governors elected new officers during a meeting July 30.

Elizabeth Bradbury, retired human resources consultant from Center, was elected board chair, succeeding Brian Hammons, CEO of Stockton-based Hammons Products Company, according to an MSU news release.

Springfield businessman Gordon Elliott, owner of Springfield-based hotel company Elliott Lodging, was chosen as the board's vice chair, the release said.

MSU Chief Financial Officer Nila Hayes was elected as the board's treasurer, and John McAlear, staff emeritus, was elected as secretary. Cathy Smith, of Trenton, was elected as executive committee member, according to the release.

The university's board of governors is composed of nine voting members and one nonvoting student member.
