Posted online
The findings of student-faculty research will be presented in a series of brown-bag lunch forums at Missouri State University.

The first Provost’s Research Forum takes place noon-–1 p.m. tomorrow and will feature presentations by Deborah Cox, associate professor of counseling, and Chris Barnhart, professor of biology.

Cox will discuss a narrative study she developed with several students in “Skin Deep: Women’s Relationships with Women in U.S. Beauty Culture.” She’ll address women’s emotional development as it involves anger and relationships.

Barnhart will present “If I Knew the Answer, It Wouldn’t Be Research: Avoiding the Comfort Zone for Fun and Profit.” He will give the findings of his research with students into the conservation-related biology of endangered freshwater pearly mussels. Barnhart also will go over the challenges and rewards of integrating research teams and service.

Other provost forums are scheduled at noon Nov. 10, Dec. 8, Feb. 9, March 9, April 6 and May 11 in Plaster Student Union Room 313 on the MSU campus. Light refreshments will be served.
