MSU president named to lead education council

Posted online
Missouri State University President Michael Nietzel was elected Wednesday to serve a two-year term as president of the statewide Council on Public Higher Education.

The council is made up of the presidents and chancellors of Missouri’s 13 public four-year universities. It meets about six times per year to discuss higher education issues and policies; provide input to the state’s Coordinating Board of Higher Education, governor and General Assembly; and respond to inquiries about public higher education.

Nietzel succeeds Barbara Dixon, president of Truman State University.
