MSU names interim equal opportunity officer

Posted online
H. Wesley Pratt, Missouri State University's diversity outreach coordinator for the office of the provost, has been named the interim equal opportunity officer for the university.

Pratt begins his new duties Feb. 1, and succeds Jana Estergard, who is leaving MSU after more than 13 years to work as the director of human resources at Jordan Valley Community Health Center. Pratt's appointment is subject to approval by the MSU Board of Governors, according to a news release.

"Wes Pratt brings skills and experience that are well-suited to this position,” MSU President James Cofer said in the release. “He will serve Missouri State very well in that role.”

Pratt will serve in the interim role until the university hires a new vice president for diversity and inclusion, the search for which already is under way. When that person is chosen, an internal search for a permanent equal opportunity officer will begin.

Pratt has worked as the diversity outreach coordinator for the office of the provost since 2007.[[In-content Ad]]
