McClure currently is associate vice president for administrative services at MSU, according to a news release. He begins in his new role Sept. 15, the same day Burris starts at the city. Burris was announced Aug. 12 as the city’s new city manager.
McClure will receive a $1,000 monthly stipend, in addition to his $105,863 salary. As associate vice president, he has been responsible for four areas in the department: environmental management, facilities analysis and management, campus planning, and safety and transportation, the release said. In his new role, McClure will lead the department and add responsibilities in human resources, computer services and communication services.
Before joining MSU in 2006, McClure was chief of staff for Gov. Matt Blunt, and previously was associate general manager-administration at City Utilities.
Meanwhile, MSU has named Vice President of Student Affairs Earle Doman as chair of a search committee to find Burris’ permanent replacement. The school said other committee members would be named soon.[[In-content Ad]]
