MSU hosts speaker on war on terrorism

A 25-year veteran employee of the U.S. government will address the war on terrorism tonight in a speech at Missouri State University.

Les Janka, vice president for the National Council for U.S.-Arab Relations, will present “U.S. and Saudi Arabia – Allies in the War on Terrorism” at 7:30 p.m. in Strong Hall, Room 301.

Janka worked for the U.S. government under presidents Nixon, Ford and Reagan. He served as a senior staff member of the National Security Council and special assistant to Henry Kissinger, as deputy press secretary for Foreign Affairs and as deputy assistant secretary of defense for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs in the Pentagon.

He also is the founder of Les Janka International, a Washington, D.C., consulting firm on affairs in the Middle East.

Tonight’s event is free and open to the public.
