While gifts to Missouri State University topped $20 million in fiscal 2023, donations were down from a record year in fiscal 2022.

The MSU Foundation total for fiscal 2023, which ended June 30, was $24.2 million, according to a news release. That's down around 25% from roughly $32 million a year earlier.

“Once again, our donors stepped up and gave gifts of all sizes. Their contributions will no doubt positively impact Missouri State and the lives of our students for years to come,” said Brent Dunn, executive director of the MSU Foundation, in the release.

The latest fiscal year marks the sixth in a row that the MSU Foundation has brought in more than $20 million in donations.

The record set in fiscal 2022 included a $5.5 million donation from Great Southern Bank for the naming rights of the former JQH Arena, according to past reporting.
