MSU Foundation sets July record with $2.3M

Posted online
The Missouri State University Foundation reported today that it broke a record for gifts and commitments in July, following a record-breaking year.

The Foundation received $2.3 million in July, the first month of its fiscal year. That marks the best July on record, according to a news release, and it comes close to the overall monthly record of $2.5 million, set in December 2007.

At the close of fiscal 2008 on June 30, the Foundation had collected a record $14.05 million. The majority of those funds were committed to academic purposes, according to the release.

Since 2005, the Foundation has averaged nearly $1 million per month. In the past year, it has added 40 new endowed funds for scholarships and faculty positions.
