Elected officers are Pat Sechler of Liberty Bank, president; and Joe Turner of Great Southern Bank, vice president. Three MSU staff members will continue in their positions: executive assistant Cindy Busby, secretary; Chief Financial Officer Kent Kay, treasurer; and financial services Controller Nila Hayes, assistant treasurer.
New to the board are Jim Buford of St. Louis, Kim Dake of West Plains, and Mike Ingram of Springfield. Larry Frazier of Hollister and Peggy Pearl of Springfield were selected to serve second terms.
The foundation was established in 1981 as the university’s fundraising arm. Since then, it has received $120 million in outright gifts and another $39 million in deferred gifts.
The foundation completed the 2006–07 with its second highest gift amount – $10.9 million. The record for one year is $11.8 million, set in 2005–06.
The foundation’s endowment now stands at more than $56 million.
