MSU expands presence to St. Louis

Posted online
Now that it’s lost the regional distinction of its name, Missouri State University is establishing a full-time operation in St. Louis to better reach across the state.

MSU has named Chad Sisk as regional admission counselor in St. Louis to coordinate recruitment and alumni relations in the city’s surrounding area and in nearby parts of Illinois.

Sisk will represent MSU at college fairs and high school/community college recruitment visits, provide information to prospective students and their parents and plan activities for prospective students and high school counselors. He will work from home and coordinate activities with the Springfield campus as needed.

Outside of the 24-county southwest Missouri area, more students come to MSU from the St. Louis area than from any other area in the state. Last fall, 712 freshmen were from St. Louis, comprising 27.6 percent of the freshman class.

More than 3,400 of MSU’s 20,700 students are from the St. Louis area, as are about 13,000 alumni.

Sask’s appointment is pending approval by MSU’s Board of Governors. Three of the board’s members are from the St. Louis area, and board member Mike Duggan said in an MSU news release that the board fully supports the initiative.[[In-content Ad]]
