MSU education program collaborates with Mexican school

Posted online
Missouri State University on Friday entered into an agreement with the University Autonomous of the Estate of Hidalgo in Pachuca Hidalgo, Mexico, to better prepare its education students for multicultural teaching opportunities.

MSU’s College of Education and UAED had been discussing the collaboration for about a year, according to an MSU news release.

Possible opportunities under the agreement could include sending MSU education professors to teach special education courses in Mexico, or creating faculty- and student-exchange programs as part of the schools’ professional education programs.

“Missouri State University recognizes the importance of preparing its students to work with individuals from all across the globe,” MSU President Michael Nietzel said in the release. “Partnerships such as this one serve this institution and our students extremely well by preparing them for multicultural opportunities they can anticipate.”

MSU offers more than 20 undergraduate programs and 10 graduate programs for teacher certification and education support personnel.[[In-content Ad]]
